Cadet Platoon of Ananda Central College

The Junior cadet platoon of the Ananda Central College was started in 1970 under Ceylon Cadet Battalion The first platoon commander was 2/LT Ariyarathna. Initially  The unit didn’t have a billet and the present billet was built later on with the participation of many  in 1993 . At that time Mr. Meththananda Was the MIC and Major KRA Priyantha was the platoon Commander who later  died in Rantembe unfortunately on 06th  September  2004 while he was participating in an exercise in Loggal Oya.He rendered an immense service to build up the cadet billet with the support of Mr. Meththaananda who later became the principal.
 
Girls cadet platoon was given a new journey by mrs Manori, Deepika and Samadara which was later (2024)taken over by Major Sanjaya Gonsal Korala, BA, Ndip who was first joined the school in 2009 and called for active service in Sri Lanka Navy as an instructor. The girls platoon became the 1st in the District selection test and 3rd  in the province and got selected to compete for De “Soysa” Challenge Throphy in 2024  for the first time in the History of the School.The platoon commander of the girls platoon is Probationary Officer Ridmi Nidarshan.
